Baptism The Baptism Tradition Baptism has been a part of Christianity since its earliest beginnings. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew~ Father, you give us grace through sacramental sign, which tell us of the wonders of your unseen power. In baptism we use your gift of water, which you have made a rich symbol of the grace you give us in this sacrament. At the very dawn of creation your Spirit breathed on the waters, making them the wellspring of all holiness. The waters of the great flood you made a sign of the waters of baptism, that make an end of sin and a new beginning of goodness. Through the waters of the Red Sea you led Israel out of slavery, to be an image of God’s holy people, set free from sin by baptism. In the waters of the Jordan your Son was baptized by John and anointed with the Spirit. Jesus said to the Eleven disciples: “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” This is the Gospel of the Lord. Caring For Christian Families in the Community Many people who do not get the opportunity to regularly attend a place of religious worship or are not active members wish to search for a minister to perform an in home baptism to give their child the right start by introducing God and the Lord Jesus Christ into their life. The ministers of Caring Hearts Ministry generally perform in home baptisms on Sunday mornings or early afternoons as a way of helping to invite and bring together family and friends for witnessing and participating in the baptism often to be followed by a festive luncheon to be enjoyed by all in continuation of the family’s celebration. Individuals may elect to select one or more godparents (or none at all). The in home baptism ceremony typically lasts for 30 - 40 minutes depending on features elected and can be adapted to be conducted for newborns, young children and adults as well as performed for multiple persons at the same time (ex. We frequently conduct Baptisms for Twins and Triplets). More and more, families rely on Caring Hearts when searching for a Non denominational minister to perform affordable baptism. Each and every child and older person being baptized is special in our eyes because it means so much to want to accept Christ. Age Appropriate Options for the Baptism There are many types of baptism ceremonies performed - much in accordance with the age of the person (from newborn through those in their senior years). Unlike other religious doctrines, we at Caring Hearts Ministry permit baptism to be done as often as an individual feels the need to do so in order to feel that much closer to the Lord Jesus Christ and God, Our Father. We have the utmost respect for other faiths but do not consider that denying a person baptismal sacramental rites accomplishes anything tangible nor has our readings of the scriptures and supplementary books not in the Bible (Dead Sea Scrolls) have ever indicated that a 2nd or 3rd or 4th, etc. baptism is not permitted or is frowned upon by God or His Son, Jesus Christ.  Designed For a Few: Designed For Many Besides having ceremony choices that are age or even circumstance (wanting the baptism at a local lake or river) appropriate, we have further made them suitable for individual needs and desires for different groups of audiences. The latter mainly referring to those who either elect to have a baptism held without anyone attending to be a witness or part of the sacrament as they simply prefer a private baptism with the minister or in the case of simply having a small gathering of 3 - 7 people stopping in to witness the event to the much larger celebrations which will follow whereby perhaps 20 - 40 people gather at one’s home, at a favorite restaurant or at a banquet hall that can accommodate catering after the baptism is complete. Our ‘God’s Little Helper’ is suggested for the planner or person wishing a private and shorter version of the baptism that provides the essential features expected without addendum sections designed for larger groups. This is our most economical choice for those wishing an informal setting and the sacrament given with a few other nice parts that will certainly make this time memorable and satisfying. For those expecting more people to be invited as they have an extensive circle of friendship and family members, you might enjoy the ‘On Angel’s Wings’ selection as this is created with slightly longer parts and includes more areas suitable to those who will be there for their direct participation. More information of each of these is outlined below.  Two Ceremony Versions “God’s Little Helper” $150 {for those who prefer the essentials, only} Minister performs ceremony in suit or clergy attire One table brought, skirted in white & gold for ceremonial altar Bible and church baptismal accessories displayed on altar The Single Anointing ceremony Candle Lighting for Baby 1 Reading offered by an attendant 2 Specific Baby Prayers Holy Water Blessings of Baby Standard Keepsake Certificate issued “On Angel’s Wings” $225 {this is the complete Grand Celebration} Minister performs ceremony in white ceremonial robe and stole over traditional clergy attire Two tables brought (one for altar and the other for Holy Water Font and other accessories) Bible and church baptismal accessories displayed on altar Welcoming Words To All Baptism Defined Honoring of Parents section The Double Anointing ceremony Candle Lighting for Baby Remembrance of Ancestral Parents Who Came before Us 2 Reading offered by an attendants God Parent Promises section 4 Specific Baby Prayers Holy Water Blessings of Gifts from others Holy Blessing and Baptism of Baby (or Youth or Adult) Deluxe Keepsake Certificate issued Gift to Baby along with giving of Keepsake Baptismal Candle Baptism Ceremony Options  Newborn* (Birth - 2 mos) - This is a 5 minute baptism created to perform the sacrament in a limited allowed time frame Infant (3 Mos - 1 ½ yrs) - This is used mainly for home baptisms and is the most frequentlychosen time to baptize Child (2 yrs - 10 yrs) - This is generally done when parents discover The Lord and wish their children to then be baptized Teen (11 yrs - 17 yrs) - This is for older children who prefer a renewed baptism or have converted to Christianity Adult (18 yrs and older) - This is for any adult of any age wishing the sacrament of baptism    *Please ask if you wish us to perform at a hospital to ensure we are permitted by nursing care staff to have contact or enter restricted areas.
